What’s one community initiative you’re passionate about?
One community initiative I’m deeply passionate about is empowering local entrepreneurs in Hawai‘i through connection, collaboration, and visibility.
That’s exactly why I founded Hawaii Entrepreneurs—to create a supportive ecosystem where small business owners, creators, and innovators across the islands can connect, share resources, and grow together. Whether it’s through networking events, spotlight interviews, or digital storytelling, our mission is to celebrate local talent and help build a thriving, resilient economy rooted in community values.
In Hawai‘i, we understand the power of ‘ohana, and I believe that same spirit can drive economic growth and innovation. When we lift each other up, we all rise.
How do you define being a “modern leader” in Hawai‘i?
Being a modern leader in Hawai‘i means honoring our local values while embracing innovation and collaboration.
To me, a modern leader understands that leadership in Hawai‘i is rooted in aloha—leading with empathy, respect, and a genuine desire to uplift the community. It’s about listening more than talking, empowering others, and creating space for diverse voices and perspectives.
At the same time, being a modern leader also means being adaptable, tech-savvy, and forward-thinking. Through Hawaii Entrepreneurs, I’ve seen how blending traditional values with modern tools can spark real change—whether it’s helping small businesses scale online or creating partnerships that bridge generations and industries.
Ultimately, a modern leader in Hawai‘i doesn’t just lead from the front—they lead alongside others, guided by culture, purpose, and a vision for collective success.
What motivates you to keep evolving personally and professionally?
What motivates me to keep evolving—both personally and professionally—is my family. That’s my “why.”
They are the reason I strive to grow, lead, and show up every day with purpose. I want to set an example for my loved ones that with hard work, heart, and humility, anything is possible. Their support fuels me, and their future inspires me.
Beyond that, I’m deeply motivated by the impact I see when local entrepreneurs succeed. Every time someone in our community gains confidence, secures new opportunities, or takes a bold step forward, it reaffirms my mission with Hawaii Entrepreneurs.
I also believe that to lead others, you have to continuously evolve yourself. That means staying open to learning, embracing change, and aligning everything I do with both personal values and professional vision.
Ultimately, I grow so I can give more to my family, my community, and the entrepreneurs building Hawai‘i’s future.
What’s something people always ask you for advice on?
People often ask me for advice on how to start or grow a business in Hawai‘i—and how to actually get connected in the local entrepreneurial community.
They want to know where to begin, how to find support, and what it really takes to build something meaningful here. And I get it. Starting a business can feel overwhelming, especially in a tight-knit and uniquely cultural place like Hawai‘i.
My advice always starts with this: Lead with authenticity, relationships, and service. Don’t just launch a product—build genuine connections. In Hawai‘i, success is rooted in trust and community.
That’s exactly why I started Hawaii Entrepreneurs—to create a platform that brings people together, shares knowledge, and helps others learn from those who’ve walked the path. Whether it’s branding, collaboration, or just having the courage to take the first step, I’m always happy to share what I’ve learned—and connect people with others who can help.
How do you express your individuality outside of work?
Outside of work, I express my individuality through an active lifestyle and quality time with my family. I enjoy basketball, tennis, lifting weights, bodyboarding, and coaching youth basketball—activities that keep me energized and connected. I also love supporting local by visiting farmers markets and spending time outdoors hiking or at the beach. These moments recharge me and keep me grounded, reminding me why community and balance are essential in both life and leadership.
