If you could swap jobs with anyone in the world for one day, who would it be and why?

I would swap jobs with the head of Hawai‘i’s most successful marketing firm to see the inside operations of how they spend their day and do what they do.

What inspires you or is most exciting about your job, business, and industry, and what are the biggest challenges?

Helping our clients grow their businesses, and this is what most inspires me also. Delivering results has been my company motto for 33 years!

What were some important turning points in your career that helped you attain your current position?

Successful in print and television advertising sales and seeing the impact my efforts made on my clients campaigns.

What’s your go-to song or playlist that gets you motivated for a busy day?

Any classic rock and roll. Growing up in the 60s and 70s in the Bay Area left that impression!

In a workplace that demands your utmost, what do you do for self-care?

Exercise, play, racquetball, sailing, yoga, and time with friends and family. Oh, and the spa!

Reflection and life experiences:

I would definitely NOT have worked full time while raising my son for the first four to five years, so I could have spent more time with him during those formative years. My wedding day on June 22, 2019, was one of my favorite days of my life when I was able to commit to the one and only, my husband Dave Kelley. A chance encounter with a friend at church changed the course of my life both in career and in the raising of my son. Greatest struggle: Learning to say No. My time is my most precious asset and there just isn’t enough time in the day to accomplish all of the things I want to accomplish. Greatest triumph is undoubtedly raising my son, mostly on my own, as he has become an incredible human being.

Scariest thing: Starting my own business almost all by myself.

Personal Growth and Character:

I am very proud of our community of my professional team and vendors and clients. Destiny sounds nice, but we drive our own destiny, every single inch of it.

Personality and Preferences:

NEVER GIVE UP. I will not give up on something I truly believe in.

I feel like a boss when we win. Problems with projects or clients. Time with my family.

Inspiration:

I stay involved in all things that I believe in. I love mentorship and mentoring and I have been a member of over 20 Hawai‘i organizations, president of four of them.
